Ryanair, a low-cost airline, has introduced a subscription service that it claims gives frequent passengers discounts.
Only 250,000 individuals would initially be able to join up for the airline's "prime" program, which would generate €19.75 million a year if completely subscribed.
The annual subscription fee is €79 and entitles subscribers to 12 member-only seat sales, which will take place once a month, travel insurance, and complimentary reserved seats.

Ryanair is calling this new service “Prime”.
This is not to be confused with Amazon's Prime — the online retailer's own subscription service — which launched its Irish online storefront last week.
The airline claimed that “Prime” members who fly 12 times per year will save up to €420.
Ryanair stated that in order to reach this figure, passengers would save €120 on reserved seating, €10 for each of the 12 flights, €180 on travel insurance, and €120 on seat sales.

"Prime" customers who only travel three times a year will save money on the subscription-based service, according to Dara Brady, chief marketing officer at Ryanair.According to Ryanair, their "Prime" service is first come, first served and is only available to 250,000 members.
In the event that the airline sells out of its first batch of "Prime" memberships, Ryanair may reap an extra €19.75 million in revenue within a year.
Ryanair made €149 million in after-tax profit in just the final three months of 2024. During the current fiscal year, which concludes on March 31, the airline anticipates making between €1.55 billion and €1.61 billion in after-tax profit.
