The fastest-growing airline in Albania has launched six new W24 routes.

The top airline in Europe, Ryanair, today (November 26) unveiled its Winter '24 schedule for Tirana, which includes 22 flights, including 6 new ones to Bari, Bristol, Budapest, Lamezia, Naples, and Vienna. The calendar shows a +25% increase in traffic compared to Winter '23. With 3 million passengers in just a year, Ryanair has emerged as Albania's fastest-growing airline, boosting inward travel and employment at the most affordable prices.

Ryanair's Winter '24 schedule for Tirana will provide:

Bari, Bristol, Budapest, Lamezia, Naples, and Vienna are the six new routes.
There are 22 routes altogether.
3m passengers annually and a 25% increase in traffic compared to Winter 2023.
maintaining more than 1,900 jobs in Albania.

Due to airline capacity being limited by competitor fleet groundings and aircraft supply delays, competition for traffic growth across airports and nations has never been more intense. As evidenced in Sweden, where Ryanair recently announced two more based aircraft for Summer 2025 after the Swedish Government decided to eliminate aviation taxes on January 1, 2025, lower entry costs are essential to assuring Ryanair traffic growth. Subject to reduced access costs, which are necessary to support our low fares, Tirana has the chance to secure accelerated Ryanair traffic development over the next five years, including up to 15 based aircraft ($1.5 billion investment), 5 million+ passengers annually, and 50 routes.

In honour of its first anniversary in Albania and the launch of six new routes (a total of 22), Ryanair has revealed a three-day seat sale, when tickets start at just €19.99 and are only available on ryanair.com.

Jason McGuinness, the Chief Commercial Officer of Ryanair, stated:

Ryanair, the only low-cost airline in Albania, is happy to announce six new Winter '24 routes from Tirana to Bari, Bristol, Budapest, Lamezia, Naples, and Vienna. This marks the airline's first anniversary in Albania with its largest winter schedule to date. Ryanair will increase traffic by +25% this winter, transporting 3 million passengers this year across 22 Tirana routes.

While Ryanair is dedicated to providing low-cost connectivity to Albania, the Swedish government's decision to eliminate aviation taxes on January 1, 2025, prompted Ryanair to add two base aircraft for the summer of 2025, demonstrating that lower access costs are the key to unlocking accelerated traffic and tourism growth. We are eager to collaborate with our Albanian partners. To provide faster growth in both traffic and tourism in the upcoming years.

Tirana Airport's Chief Operating Officer and Administrator, Mr. Piervittorio Farabbi, stated:

"TIA has been forced to push the operating limit even farther since Ryanair's debut in October of last year. We are now able to provide all of our airline partners with more efficient turnaround times and streamlined procedures.

Most significantly, though, the heightened competition has led to a better offer and a wider network of routes, which have enabled TIA to achieve incredible traffic outcomes.

We anticipate carrying on with our partnership with Ryanair for many years to come.
