A passenger on a Ryanair flight to Manchester experienced a medical issue in midair and subsequently passed away on board, forcing the airline to make an emergency landing in London.

After "chaos" broke out in the cabin, flight RK8293 from Tirana, Albania to Manchester landed at Stansted Airport on Sunday night, November 10.

The Ryanair flight was supposed to land in the northern city at 8.10 p.m., but a medical issue forced the jet to change its course just before 8 p.m., according to FlightRadar.

Before first aid-trained passengers conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the aisle, a fellow traveler reported  that a guy began "having convulsions."

The witness went on to say, "He stopped breathing and everything went into chaos."

Before the plane made an emergency landing at London Stansted, two members of the cabin crew reportedly operated the defibrillator on the man for twenty-five minutes.

One ambulance, one paramedic car, one Hazardous Area Response Team vehicle, and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance arrived at the scene at Stansted Airport, an East of England Ambulance Service representative informed The Independent.

"Unfortunately, the man had passed away at the scene despite everyone's best efforts," they continued.

Later, without the passengers accompanying the man, the aeroplane proceeded to Manchester.

Ryanair has been approached by The Independent for comment.

The family of a man who died on a British Airways trip from London to New York due to an asthma attack filed a lawsuit against the airline last week, alleging that flight attendants failed to enquire if a doctor was on board.

According to a wrongful death lawsuit his brother filed in Brooklyn federal court, Shimon Breuer, 25, started having trouble breathing about an hour before the plane was scheduled to land last year.

Breuer "gasped for air" and "begged for help" in a panic, but the cabin staff "failed to provide… prompt and proper medical attention," which is how he died, according to the report.
