Beginning in the summer of next year, Ryanair will operate a new direct trip to Malta from the city's airport.
The twice-weekly service, which will run on Tuesdays and Saturdays starting on April 1, 2025, would give customers more "flexibility and convenience" while travelling to one of the most well-liked locations in the Mediterranean.

This is the eighth route from the city's airport operated by the major airline. At the moment, it leaves Glasgow and goes to Alicante, Brussels, Dublin, Krakow, Malaga, and Wroclaw.

Glasgow Airport expressed its excitement over the new route, saying it will provide travellers from Scotland's largest city with a "convenient and direct option" to Malta.

"We're thrilled that Ryanair has decided to grow its operations here by launching a new direct route to Malta," stated Chris Tibbett, Aero Director for AGS Airports.

The airline's confidence in Glasgow as a gateway for Scottish travellers is demonstrated by this addition.

"Whether for a long weekend, a weeklong vacation, or a longer stay, it also means more options for those seeking a sunny getaway."

Next summer, an extra 20,000 passengers are expected to travel between Glasgow and Malta on the new service.
