A Passenger attempts suicide in toilet during Boeing 777 approach to London Heathrow

After a passenger apparently tries suicide in the lavatory, the aircraft makes an emergency landing.

A passenger on a flight from Thailand to the UK reportedly attempted suicide inside the aircraft's bathrooms, prompting an emergency landing, according to a report on Monday.

According to the Sun, cabin staff members on board EVA Air Flight BR67 from Bangkok discovered a passenger was still using the restroom on Friday as the aircraft descended into London's Heathrow Airport.

A Boeing 777-300ER with registration B-16733 conducted the flight. Pilots needed to make a landing priority.

It was presumed that the man was attempting suicide when he found in the toilet during the plane's descent.

The person was helped by flight attendants and the on-board doctor, it is understood.

Once the aircraft had landed at 19:57 GMT, the man was given first aid and rushed to hospital for further treatment.

EVA Air confirmed the incident on the BR67 Bangkok-London flight on March 15.
