Incident at Stockholm Arlanda Airport: Ryanair aircraft evacuated due to smoke in cabin

An emergency occurred at Stockholm Arlanda Airport when Ryanair's Buzz Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 (registration SP-RZG), traveling to Krakow on flight FR4626, showed signs of smoke in the cabin before takeoff.

189 passengers were quickly evacuated using the emergency slides of the aircraft, as witnessed by bystanders who described the dramatic scene.

Shortly after the plane took off from the gate, the alarm raised triggering a massive emergency response. The evacuation and investigation were coordinated by emergency services, law enforcement, and airport authorities.

Even though every passenger was safely evacuated, worries about possible property hazards because of the smoke persisted.

Responders used thermal imaging technology to identify increased heat inside the aircraft, which prompted continued safety monitoring. Witnesses saw firefighters participating in smoke dives within the aircraft at the time of the incident.

Authorities are still focused on protecting the safety of travelers and property at Arlanda Airport while they try to identify what caused the smoke.
