Flybondi flight FO5238 left Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) on Thursday with a destination of San Carlos de Bariloche but ended up in Ezeiza, giving passengers a surprise excursion to the opposite side of the country's capital, Buenos Aires.
The flight took off without a hitch from runway 31 at Aeroparues. The engine malfunctioned as the plane ascended, forcing the pilots to announce an emergency landing at just 3,000 feet.
The Boeing 737-8000 safely landed on runway 11 at Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) after only 30 minutes of flight.
