The rest of the flight crew pilots and flight attendants were all declared physically well and were checked by paramedics. None of the passengers were affected by the smell.

“Pilots on a flight from Canberra to Melbourne reported an unusual smell in the flight deck before landing. The aircraft landed normally and the pilots and crew were assessed by ambulance officers on arrival in Melbourne,” a Qantas spokesperson told various Australian media outlets.

“The pilots did not require any treatment, however, one cabin crew member was taken to hospital for further medical checks. No passengers were impacted by the smell and the aircraft is being checked by engineering,” the spokesperson further said.

The incident had no effect on other aircraft.
