Jump Aero just pulled back the curtains on their all-new, medical crisis-focused eVTOL aircraft, and guess what? They've already snagged their first order! They've affectionately named this new design the JA1 'Pulse'. It's all about getting doctors and lifesaving gear to off-the-beaten-path emergencies ASAP.
The Pulse isn't just any old eVTOL; once it's up and running, this bird will hit dash speeds of up to 250 knots! That's gonna make it the speediest eco-friendly personal ride around. Jump Aero's big dream? To shrink that crucial eight-minute emergency response window, making it accessible to even the most remote corners.
Here's a bit of backstory: Jump Aero has been nurturing the idea of the Pulse since 2019. And, they just spilled the beans that the US Air Force (USAF) will be chipping in to help fund their first full-scale prototype. But wait, there's more – Falck Ambulance Services has placed the first commercial order.
Speaking of Falck, they're this awesome global first-response outfit based in Denmark. With a whopping 25,000 pros on their roster, they're making a difference in 26 countries. Jakob Riis, the big boss at Falck, chimed in, “We're buzzing to team up with Jump Aero. With their tech, we'll be reimagining emergency services, making sure help gets to those tricky spots in a jiffy."
Jump Aero is not stopping there. The USAF's entrusted them with a cool $3.6 million in contracts to fast-track their tech dreams. The cherry on top? A recent $1.8 million Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI) will grease the wheels for their first proof-of-concept prototype.
Lt Col John Tekell, the head honcho of the Agility Prime Program, is all praise: “Jump Aero's innovative approach to rapid response could be a game-changer, even for defense. Their eVTOL vision aligns nicely with the other programs we're partnering with. Can't wait to see where this collaboration takes us!”
A fun tidbit? The JA1 Pulse can whisk away one expert, along with their emergency gear, to those untouched rural spots.
