Did you hear about that Frontier Airlines flight out of Denver? It had to turn back not long after takeoff because of a weird smell in the cockpit!
This all went down on September 19th, 2023. The flight, F9 560, was on its way to Raleigh-Durham in North Carolina and was only about 40 minutes in when they decided to circle back. Some folks shared the air traffic control recordings from LiveATC.net where the pilot described this odd odor. It wasn't smoke, but the pilot did mention something like a "contamination in the cabin."
FlightAware's tracking shows the plane did a quick turnaround after leaving Denver.
Frontier gave an update too. They said, "Earlier this evening, right after we left Denver Airport, Flight 560 heading to Raleigh-Durham with 160 folks on board had what we're calling a 'fume event.' Out of caution, the crew brought the plane back to Denver and even had emergency medical people check things out at the gate. Luckily, after being seen by EMS, it doesn't seem like anyone needed more medical attention."
