Dublin Airport stabbing: interrogation suspended to allow suspect to receive medical attention (Video)

Did you hear about that shocking incident at Dublin Airport over the weekend? A man unexpectedly stabbed another guy, both in their 50s, right outside Terminal 1 on Sunday, around 11:30 a.m. Crazy, right?

The poor victim suffered several wounds, especially to his neck and stomach, but luckily, he's expected to pull through. After the attack, paramedics were quick to attend to him on the spot, and he was then taken to Beaumont Hospital in north Dublin.

And here's where it gets even more intriguing: the alleged attacker, who's originally from Africa but has been living in Ireland for over ten years, was quickly apprehended by the Airport Police. The Gardaí took him into custody not long after. As for his past, there's nothing that suggests he's ever been a security concern.

Some are speculating that he had some ongoing issues with State agencies, especially over welfare payments, but the real reason behind the attack is still a mystery. Thankfully, no evidence so far points towards it being terror-related.

Imagine this - the victim was actually with a group of people when it happened, but no one else was harmed. From what I heard, the weapon was just a penknife. Everyone's quite relieved that it didn't escalate any further. The Airport Police were super prompt, reaching the scene in about 90 seconds and detaining the suspect before the gardaí even got there.

After the incident, they had to cordon off the area for some time. The Garda Technical Bureau checked it out, and they're currently reviewing the CCTV footage. Thankfully, the airport's operations weren't disrupted, and no flights were affected.

The suspect was being questioned on Monday night, and due to some legislation, they could interview him for up to 24 hours without charging him. But there was a pause in the questioning - apparently, he needed medical attention.

Lastly, if you or anyone you know happened to be around or has any video of the incident, the Gardaí at Dublin Airport are urging witnesses to step forward. Every bit of information helps, after all.
