Condor's new Airbus A330neo was struck by an airport vehicle, resulting in a huge fuselage tear.

The leisure airline Condor was obliged to take a brand-new Airbus A330neo out of service for repairs just a few weeks after celebrating its arrival.

The A330neo, with the registration D-ANRB, was struck by an airport vehicle on September 27, 2023, at Frankfurt Airport (FRA), resulting in a significant tear in the fuselage.

No passengers were on board the aircraft at the time of hit, and no one was hurt, a Condor spokesperson confirmed in a statement.

"Technical experts are already on site doing a detailed inspection of the aircraft's damage.

Working closely with all relevant government agencies and other parties is Condor. Additional inquiries are now being conducted,

A portion of the truck can be seen jammed into the airplane fuselage in pictures posted on social media after puncturing the plane's exterior.

It is Condor's ninth brand-new A330neo, and it arrived on Saturday, September 2, 2023. The aircraft is just over three years old.

In order to complete its overall fleet renewal program, Condor anticipates receiving a total of 18 new long-haul aircraft.

Following the completion of the long-haul fleet renewal, Condor will replace its current Airbus A320, A321, and Boeing 757 aircraft with 13 factory-new A320neo and 28 factory-new A321neo aircraft in its short- and medium-haul fleet.
