Airbus, Rolls-Royce, easyJet, GKN Aerospace, Bristol Airport, and Danish renewable energy company Ørsted are teaming up to kickstart Hydrogen in Aviation (HIA) alliance

So what's the big plan? Well, they're all pooling their talents to give the British hydrogen aviation scene a serious boost. They're not just focused on the technology but also want to iron out all the nitty-gritty details like infrastructure, rules and regulations, and of course, the funding to make it all happen.

You might be interested to know that Airbus is already in the game—they're working on launching a whole fleet of hydrogen-powered planes by 2035. And the HIA gang plans to work closely with the government to make sure everything's on track.

For hydrogen to be a real game-changer in aviation, airports will need the right infrastructure, and there's gotta be a clear set of rules. Also, instead of just short-term R&D funding for hydrogen, HIA aims to create a 10-year financial roadmap to make things more sustainable.

And here's the cherry on top: Research from the UK's Jet Zero council suggests that hydrogen aviation could pump as much as £34 billion (that's around $42 billion) into the British economy by 2050, all while making air travel greener. Pretty exciting, right?
