Air Canada Allegedly Forces Passengers Out Over Vomit-Coated Seats

Susan Benson recently shared a concerning experience she had with Air Canada on her Facebook. On August 29, 2023, she boarded a flight from Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport to Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. From the get-go, something didn't smell right. The seats in front of her had a peculiar stench, but she couldn’t quite place it at first.

Turns out, someone on the earlier flight had an... unfortunate incident, leaving some of the seats covered in vomit. Susan says Air Canada staff did their best to quickly clean up before the next boarding, but it was clear it wasn’t enough.

She noticed two women who were supposed to sit there having a tough time. While the crew tried to mask the smell with coffee grounds and perfume sprays, the seats were still damp and hints of the mess remained.

A flight attendant approached, apologetically explaining that they were at full capacity and there wasn't much to be done. When the passengers exclaimed they couldn't possibly sit in such conditions for five hours, a supervisor was summoned. But instead of offering a solution, the supervisor just echoed the same lines.

Feeling sympathetic, Susan watched as the passengers asked for some cleaning supplies, hoping to make the best of a bad situation. But things took a turn for the worse when the pilot stepped in. He presented them with two choices: leave the plane and book another flight at their own expense or get escorted out by security and risk being blacklisted.

To Susan's shock, after another passenger tried to reason with the pilot, security was called and the two women were escorted off the plane.

In her post, Susan expressed her distress, saying, “I can't shake off the thought of those two women who were just trying to get to Vienna via Montreal. Honestly, as a Canadian, I'm embarrassed. And I'm definitely not proud of Air Canada right now. If you're reading this, share it. Let’s hold them accountable. I've raised this with Air Canada directly and even spread the word on other platforms. I really hope those ladies get a good lawyer and Air Canada realizes the error of their ways. Seriously, shame on you, Air Canada!”
