if you're flying to or from the UK today, you might want to brace yourself for some delays. Apparently, the whole air traffic control system went on the fritz. Talk about bad timing, especially with everyone coming back from their long bank holiday weekend trips.
So, what's going on? Sky News says passengers from various airlines have been told that the UK's air traffic control network is down, messing up their flight schedules. The folks at the National Air Traffic Services, or NATS, which handles air traffic control in the UK, have also weighed in.
They basically said, "Look, we've got a tech glitch on our hands, so we're slowing down air traffic to keep everyone safe. Our engineers are scrambling to find and fix the issue. Sorry for any headaches this causes you."
Airlines are jumping into the conversation too, keeping folks updated via social media. For example, Loganair, you know, the airline, tweeted that both cross-country and international flights are getting hit with delays. So, yeah, if you're flying today, maybe bring an extra book or download a few more episodes of your favorite podcast to pass the time.
