Prisoner Escapes Custody At Denver International Airport

A prisoner briefly escaped custody at Denver International Airport while he was being transferred to Texas by law enforcement officers from Texas.

A prisoner being transported under the custody of Texas authorities managed to escape the deputies at Denver International Airport (DEN) on the morning of Friday, July 21.

The incident

According to Denver 7, the incident happened as the prisoner was being transported from Steamboat Springs to Denver by deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's office in Texas. The passenger had arrived that morning on flight UA-5559 (Hayden to Denver), which was run by United Express, a local partner of United Airlines.

When the passenger was being transported to the next flight, they managed to escape. Despite the fact that the passenger was eventually recaptured by the deputies with the aid of police from the Denver Police Department, sources suggest that one of the Orange County officers sustained injuries.

According to additional information provided by CBS News, the escape occurred close to Gate A40 in Concourse A of the airport, temporarily disrupting operations there. According to the information, the escapee fled onto the apron.

In addition, additional accounts indicate that Denver Police Department trucks were seen close to gate A40 for a Frontier Airlines aircraft.
