In Poland, a Cessna 208 Caravan crash-landed into a hangar, killing five persons and injuring several others. 

On July 17, 2023, an accident happened at Chrcynno Airfield (ICAO: EPNC) in Poland, which is situated close to Warsaw, the country's capital. 

Five people were killed when the airplane, SP-WAW, crashed into a hangar where people had congregated, according to the local news station TVN24.  

According to witnesses, there were storms and severe winds in the area, and the hangar was "used as a bar and a meeting place for people using the airport," the report continued, adding that the Cessna 208 Caravan was used for parachute jumps. 


Flightradar24.com data indicates that the crash occurred at approximately 5:05 p.m. local time (UTC +2), while SP-WAW was on its third flight of the day. 

"Five people died, five were hurt, and four escaped injury as a result of the tragedy. The head of Poland's State Fire Service (Pastwowa Stra Poarna, PSP), Andrzej Bartkowiak, issued a statement on Twitter thanking the firefighters and paramedics of #LPR for their rescue efforts. 

In an update on July 18, 2023, Poland's Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, stated that 13 people in all had been hurt. 

“Many thanks to the rescue services for yesterday’s action after the accident in Chrcynno,” said Niedzielski, adding that two patients are also in critical condition.
