An uncomfortable scenario with possible serious repercussions for airlines and passengers alike is experiencing not just one but two diversions on a single trip. A technical problem occurred on July 20 as the airline's Boeing 737-900, flight number N320AS, was flying from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA).

According to Flightradar24.com, the 19.9-year-old aircraft departed Los Angeles at 12:35 PM local time for its about two-hour and fifteen-minute trip to Seattle. But midway through the journey, an electrical problem forced the plane to make a U-turn and head for Sacramento.

The allegation claims that after the initial detour, Alaska Airlines assured customers that the mechanical problem had been fixed. In a statement to the Anchorage Daily News (ADN), a representative for Alaska Airlines stated:

"The crew experienced a mechanical indicator and followed standard procedures to divert to SMF. Maintenance met the flight on the ground (and) fixed the issue."

The same cockpit warning light, however, reappeared on the flight to Seattle after leaving Sacramento, indicating the continuance of the same mechanical issue. The choice to head back to Sacramento had to be made by the pilots.

A second landing at Sacramento Airport was observed by Flightradar24 just before 5:30 local time.
