The aircraft will reportedly fly past three landmarks across the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The new airline from Saudi Arabia, Riyadh Air, will commemorate its launch on Monday with a planned low-altitude flyby after last week's official reveal of its striking livery. The airline will have two livery designs, the first of which is the paint scheme that was just unveiled.
Before Riyadh Air hopes to start operations in 2025, there will be a number of significant milestones after the joyous and historic event. The company was established on March 12th, 2023.
A hometown revelation
After introducing the livery, Riyadh Air confirmed the planned flyover by counting down the days in a series of posts on social media. a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner sporting the chic livery will fly over the airline's base, it tweeted on Saturday.
The aircraft will pass through the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in the Saudi Arabian capital, the Kingdom Tower, and the Al Faisaliyah Tower in addition to its hub at King Khalid International Airport.
The plane, N8572C, was presented by Riyadh Air on June 4th as it was being rolled out of a Boeing hangar in Portland, Oregon. Flightradar24.com records show that the 787 left Portland, Oregon, later that morning at 11:57, traveling to Charleston, South Carolina, where it arrived at 19:50. No further travel details were disclosed, but it's expected that the plane will take a Sunday flight to Riyadh before doing the flyover on Monday.
After revealing the livery, Riyadh Air confirmed the anticipated flyby by indicating the days left in a series of social media posts.
