The change represents a return to the carrier's pre-pandemic Dubai-Stansted schedules.
Emirates has established a second daily flight from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to London Stansted (STN). These flights, which will be operated by twin-engine Boeing 777 widebody aircraft, would provide passengers from North London and the East of England with increased connection to Dubai and other locations. Back to pre-pandemic frequencies.
Emirates' second daily flight from London Stansted to Dubai International started yesterday, continuing the UAE flag carrier's and the airport's good start to the month.
Due to the different schedules of the second flight, the number of weekly Dubai departures from Stansted has increased to 14, boosting the number of onward connecting options. Gareth Powell, MD of Stansted Airport, stated:
"The return of Emirates’ second daily flight from London Stansted to Dubai is great news for passengers, and a real boost for the airport, London, and the East of England. This doubling of flights is a clear demonstration of the airline's confidence in Stansted, and reflects the significant demand for long-haul services that exists across the region."
Emirates flights between London Stansted Airport and Dubai began just under five years ago, in June 2018, according to a statement from the airport. Growing demand encouraged the carrier to launch a second daily departure in March 2019, but the route was closed a year later due to the emergence of the coronavirus. It's been a long time coming.
As a result, Emirates hasn't flown such frequent flights between Stansted and Dubai in over three years. The route's temporary closure ended in August after 28 months, marking a welcome return. The return of the second daily departure, on the other hand, is an important milestone for both Emirates and Stansted Airport. Richard Jewsbury, Divisional Vice President (UK) at Emirates, adds:
"Since we recommenced services to and from Stansted in August 2022, bookings have continued to surge from the London hub. It is fantastic to be scaling up operations even further this year, offering passengers increased connectivity ahead of the popular summer holiday period. Stansted is a key hub for Emirates in the East and Southeast of the UK, and we look forward to welcoming even more passengers onboard."
