After a bomb threat, passengers were evacuated from a JetBlue flight in Los Angeles.

A furious passenger made the threat after missing a flight.

A passenger allegedly threatened to detonate a bomb because he was upset over missing his flight from Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The phone threat ultimately resulted in a security alert being issued at the Los Angeles airport.

The scene at Los Angeles International Airport

It was a JetBlue flight that had a bomb threat made against it. The plane touched down at LAX at about 14:00 local time. The JetBlue aircraft was promptly kept at a safe location on the tarmac.

Firefighters and police arrived at the remote spot away from the gate.

The guests were then made to wait for an hour before being given permission to disembark using a truck-mounted stairway. The passengers were allowed to board a shuttle bus at approximately 15:20 local time. They were all then transported to their respective terminals via shuttle bus.

A more invasive sweep of the aircraft was carried out after the passengers disembarked. According to the results of the investigation, there was no preliminary evidence of an actual explosive device.

Officials from the FAA determined that the situation at Los Angeles International Airport was normal after the passengers deplaned. No additional planes to or from LAX were immediately impacted by the investigation.

Additionally, according to officials, the person who made the bomb threat was intended to be a passenger on the flight but ended up missing it. His baggage had already been carried onboard the aircraft. The traveler then contacted and reported that his suitcase "contained a possible bomb," which was on board the aircraft.

According to officials, the disgruntled passenger was dealt with by Las Vegas Police, who also informed the Los Angeles Police Department of the threat.
